Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information collected during a visit, why it is used, and the limited circumstances in which another party may receive it. By continuing to use Garrard County Criminal History, you accept these practices.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results; this site does not keep or log the submitted search terms.

Messages and Contact Submissions

An email or other direct message may be retained for the purpose of responding. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is legally required.

Data We Gather Automatically

Our servers automatically receive basic technical details when a page loads, including:

  • Page-view timestamps
  • Your device's assigned IP address
  • Pages viewed and the time spent on them
  • Browser name and version
  • Operating system and device category
  • A referring website, when one exists

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files placed on a device that help show aggregate usage patterns, such as popular pages and exit points. Analytics services assist with compiling that traffic information. You may block cookies through browser settings, although doing so can change how parts of the site operate.

What We Do With This Data

  • Diagnosing and repairing technical problems
  • Operating the site and maintaining acceptable performance
  • Directing a submitted query to the applicable search partner
  • Understanding which pages are useful and where improvements are needed
  • Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

Garrard County Criminal History does not maintain, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It explains how to reach the Garrard Circuit Court Clerk, the Garrard County Sheriff and Lancaster Police Department, Kentucky State Police, and the Kentucky Sex Offender Registry. This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not used to create consumer reports or dossiers about other people.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies power the search boxes. A partner's own privacy policy, retention period, and sharing rules apply to information entered there; this policy does not govern the partner's processing. Review those terms before submitting a query.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to the Garrard County Sheriff, Kentucky Court of Justice, other government agencies, legal-aid resources, or commercial search services. Once you follow an external link, that destination's privacy policy controls the visit. Read it before supplying personal information.

Some advertising providers may use activity across websites to select targeted advertisements. That processing occurs on the provider's systems.

Who Might See Your Data

We do not sell personal data. Information may nevertheless be available to:

  • Analytics providers measuring traffic and performance
  • Search partners processing a query you choose to submit
  • Advertising networks serving advertisements
  • Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for collected data. No internet-connected system can be guaranteed completely secure, however, so we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.

Users Under 18

This website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If we learn that a minor provided such data, we will delete it.

Your Data Rights

Rights may vary with the law where you live. Kentucky's Open Records Act, KRS 61.870-61.884, governs access to records held by public agencies, while KRS 17.150 limits dissemination of Kentucky State Police's centralized criminal-history compilation; neither statute turns this private site into a government records custodian. For data this site itself holds, you may:

  • Request deletion of your data
  • Ask what personal information we have about you
  • Seek correction of inaccurate information
  • Opt out of certain processing where applicable

Updates to This Policy

This policy may be revised. Any replacement will appear on this page with its updated effective date, so visitors should review it periodically.
